ABOUT dr. James Sarkodieh


Dr James Sarkodieh is a Consultant Radiologist at Barts Health NHS trust. He obtained his primary medical degree at Barts and the London, passing with Distinction. He also undertook an intercalated degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary, University of London before working as a junior doctor in London and Essex.

Dr Sarkodieh undertook his Radiology specialty training at the Barts and the London scheme and completed subspecialty training in musculoskeletal radiology at the Royal London and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospitals. He has also obtained the European Diploma of Musculoskeletal Radiology and the Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine. This broad knowledge, in combination with his experience in semi-professional football gives him a unique insight into the mechanisms of injury, diagnosis and treatment of adults and children with musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr Sarkodieh is proficient in ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections. In his regular practice he interprets a range of MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound studies in adults and children.

In addition, Dr Sarkodieh completed Radiology training at the old London Chest Hospital and is a key member of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. He maintains his interest in chest imaging through membership of the British Society of Thoracic Imaging.

For his ongoing postgraduate teaching contribution, Dr Sarkodieh has been conferred the title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine, William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
